Smoke and Fire

We are smoke from two fires,
My fire, your fire.
Our smokes rising in the cool night air
The moon shines through us,
Lights us up.
The smokes meet in the night sky
Filled with stars,
And dance in the dark light.
One smoke, swirling.
At dawn the fires meet,
Burning, Touching, Close.
Consuming each other
One plus one equals one.
The morning sun lighting us up,
One fire burning together,
In the heat of the day.
The world is our food.
The flicking tongues of our fire
Lick the face of the sun.
