Night Driver
Richard Lamos

I am in my favorite place
Somewhere I have never been
I slliiiiiide onto the highway
I am rolllllling down the fucking road
This moon in front of me
That I have never seen
Pulls me like a magnet
She is enormous and stunning and kind
She knows me in a way
That I do not know myself
I take my hands off the wheel
To dance with her
These red taillights I chase
Are my brothers
Lonely phantoms like me
Loopy and dreamy
From the miles and miles and miles
Riding with memories
Of the scent of her hair
The sparkle of her laugh
She too a midnight driver
The night is an inky black lake
We dive into
